Separate workspace plans and self-service instance purchases
Choose team access independently from compute, compare more instance sizes, and resume an existing checkout safely.
This update covers changes shipped October 12–18, 2026. It makes team access and application resources easier to choose independently, with clearer purchase and renewal flows.
Improved
-
Separate workspace and instance plans. Hobby has no workspace fee. Pro is $25 per workspace per month for up to ten members, and Scale is $99 for up to fifty. Application and database instances, persistent disks, and optional build-minute packs remain separate purchases. Upgrading collaboration does not resize services or buy compute credit. Compare plans.
-
More application instance choices. The application catalog now ranges from Starter with 512 MiB and 0.5 shared vCPU through larger CPU and memory combinations, up to 12 shared vCPU and 96 GiB. Web services, private services, workers, and cron jobs can use the applicable paid compute tiers; PostgreSQL and MySQL retain database-specific plans. Review the quote for the selected service and replica capacity. Choose compute and database resources.
-
Self-service purchases for listed paid instances. Larger application instances and Professional and Business database plans use the dashboard's quote and hosted checkout flow. If a confirmed service purchase needs additional hosting capacity, provisioning is queued before deployment, subject to availability. Checkout warns when this may restart the workspace host and briefly interrupt its services. A paid purchase is active only after the required provisioning and deployment succeed. Understand payment and provisioning.
-
Clearer total-cost and allowance explanations. Pricing separates workspace fees, per-replica compute, included database storage, and additional persistent disks. Build minutes are shared across a workspace: Hobby includes 500, Pro 1,000, and Scale 5,000 per UTC month. Creating services or buying a larger instance does not multiply that allowance. Optional packs are separate, explicit purchases. Review pricing and build allowances.
-
Preserved terms for existing purchases. Purchased service months and renewals of an already selected legacy instance keep their quoted rates. Selecting a new instance requires a new quote and confirmation. The dashboard shows when a scheduled plan change takes effect; workspace and service renewals remain separate manual actions. Review renewals and plan changes.
Fixed
-
Hosted checkout for plan purchases. Supported workspace and service plans can initiate Bachs hosted checkout, including larger listed instances. The dashboard surfaces an existing payable checkout so it can be resumed before a conflicting plan purchase is started. Openstead still waits for verified payment confirmation before granting the purchased term. Pay and review invoices.
-
Retry confirmed purchases without paying again. A purchase that needs provisioning attention can use its existing retry action. Check the invoice, payment, and purchase status before creating another checkout; a provisioning failure does not require another payment for the same purchase. Resolve a paid service that is not active.
